He is the founding CEO and Director of Research of the Translational Research Institute, Chair of the Translational Research Institute (TRI) Foundation Board, and Advisor on Medical Research, <span class=\"xn-org\">University of Queensland<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Brisbane Australia<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Co-winner-2<\/p>\n<p>Late Dr. <span class=\"xn-person\">Jian Zhou<\/span> was the Lion Principal Research Fellow, and Chair of the HPV Structure Protein Laboratory at the Centre for Immunology and Cancer Research of the University Of Queensland Faculty of Medicine, <span class=\"xn-location\">Brisbane, Australia<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Both researchers are co-developers of the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) vaccine that prevents infection with HPV strains responsible for the majority of cases of cervical cancer. In <span class=\"xn-chron\">August 2006<\/span>, Prof. <span class=\"xn-person\">Ian Frazer<\/span> administered the first dose of the vaccine.<\/p>\n<p>Sheikh <span class=\"xn-person\">Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum<\/span> Award for Medical Sciences is a non-profit organization that honors researchers worldwide who carry out distinguished medical research to serve humanity.
