MDK generates annual sales of approximately <span class=\"xn-money\">$50 million<\/span> and is a leading provider of medical device packaging, a key priority growth segment for Amcor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>MDK&#8217;s coating capabilities, medical paper-based packaging offerings and customer base complements Amcor&#8217;s existing portfolio, further enhancing its leading position in the Chinese medical device packaging market. The addition of MDK also strengthens Amcor&#8217;s leadership in the broader <span class=\"xn-location\">Asia Pacific<\/span> medical packaging segment, which now comprises four manufacturing sites serving the <span class=\"xn-location\">China<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">India<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Japan<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-location\">Southeast Asia<\/span> markets.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As Amcor continues to sharpen its focus on higher growth priority segments, the addition of MDK will enhance our already strong healthcare platform in the <span class=\"xn-location\">Asia Pacific<\/span> region,&#8221; said Amcor CEO <span class=\"xn-person\">Ron Delia<\/span>. &#8220;MDK&#8217;s talented team brings strong capabilities and a complementary product and customer portfolio.&nbsp; We look forward to working together to unlock value creation opportunities for customers in this fast-growing, high-value segment, which we believe will help us continue to deliver strong returns for our shareholders.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition of MDK follows the recent opening of Amcor&#8217;s new world class <span class=\"xn-location\">Asia Pacific<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amcor.com\/media\/news\/amcor-expands-innovation-center-network-in-asia-pacific\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Innovation Center in Jiangyin, <span class=\"xn-location\">China<\/span><\/a>, and the introduction last year of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amcor.com\/media\/news\/amcor-unveils-state-of-the-art-healthcare-packaging-facility-in-singapore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">state-of-the-art dedicated healthcare packaging facility in <span class=\"xn-location\">Singapore<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the <span class=\"xn-chron\">March 2023<\/span> quarter.<\/p>\n<p><b>About Amcor<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Amcor is a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, medical, home and personal-care, and other products.
