SINGAPORE<\/span>, Jan. 20, 2023<\/span> \/PRNewswire\/ — Following the annual meeting of the Rogers International Commodity Index (RICI\u00ae) Committee, Jim Rogers<\/span> and Beeland Interests, Inc. announce that in light of CME’s announcement to phase out the Random Length Lumber Futures contract (CME:LBS) in favor of the Lumber Futures contract (CME:LBR), the RICI\u00ae and Rogers International Commodity Index \u2013 Agriculture sub-index (RICI\u00ae-A) will transition from LBS to LBR effective with the January 2023<\/span> roll period, which roll period occurs at the end of January 2023<\/span>. There will be no adjustments to the weights of components comprising the RICI, leaving Index components and weights unchanged since the January 2019<\/span> roll period. This outcome reaffirms the founding premise that for the sake of transparency, consistency and stability, composition changes to the RICI be infrequent.<\/p>\n

The RICI represents the value of a compendium (or “basket”) of globally traded commodities employed in the global economy (38 commodity futures contracts), ranging from agricultural and energy products to metals and minerals. The RICI and its various sub-indexes are used by many investment banks and investors throughout the world.<\/p>\n
