CHARLOTTE, N.C.<\/span>, April 18, 2023<\/span> \/PRNewswire\/ — JELD-WEN Holding, Inc. (NYSE: JELD), a leading global manufacturer of building products, today announced that it has completed its comprehensive review of strategic alternatives for its Australasia business and has entered into a definitive sale agreement with Platinum Equity to sell 100% of the business for approximately $688 million<\/span> Australian dollars (or approximately US$461 million<\/span>1<\/sup>) before tax and subject to certain adjustments. JELD-WEN anticipates minimal tax leakage associated with the transaction.  <\/p>\n

JELD-WEN’s Australasia business represents approximately 11 percent of the company’s global revenues and is the leading Australian designer, manufacturer and distributor of windows and doors. It employs roughly 5,000 people and comprises 41 manufacturing locations across Australia<\/span>, Malaysia<\/span> and Indonesia<\/span>. Its notable brands include Corinthian\u00ae, Stegbar\u00ae and Breezway\u00ae, among many others.<\/p>\n

The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2023, subject to certain closing conditions and regulatory approvals.<\/p>\n

JELD-WEN intends to use the majority of the proceeds from the transaction to pay down debt. The company plans to update full-year guidance on its first quarter earnings call, scheduled for May 9<\/span>, to reflect reporting the Australasia business as discontinued operations beginning in its second fiscal quarter.<\/p>\n
