The Global Organic Textile Standard<\/a> (GOTS), widely regarded as the gold standard for organic materials and sustainable manufacturing, strives to ensure the organic status of textiles throughout the production process, from the harvesting of raw materials to environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, and ultimately, labeling. To meet GOTS standards, textiles must contain a minimum of 70% organic fibers, including raw plant and animal hair fibers that are grown and raised without the use of harsh chemicals such as genetically modified organisms, herbicides, or synthetic pesticides.<\/p>\n
