The conversation revolved around fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and the cultural exchanges between the two countries.<\/p>\n<div class=\"PRN_ImbeddedAssetReference\" id=\"DivAssetPlaceHolder2610\" align=\"center\" readability=\"7\">\n<p title=\"CGTN: Peng Liyuan encourages cultural exchanges between China and Ecuador\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/v4rWz_OMCEg\" frameborder=\"0\">&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;nbsp;<\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In a chamber decorated with <span class=\"xn-location\">China&#8217;s<\/span> peonies and <span class=\"xn-location\">Ecuador&#8217;s<\/span> roses, Peng warmly welcomed Alcivar, who accompanied Ecuadorian President <span class=\"xn-person\">Guillermo Lasso<\/span> to the opening ceremony of the <span class=\"xn-location\">Beijing<\/span> 2022 Olympic Winter Games on Friday. <\/p>\n<p>Hailing <span class=\"xn-location\">Beijing&#8217;s<\/span> efforts to host the Winter Olympics despite the COVID-19 impact, Alcivar expressed appreciation for <span class=\"xn-location\">China&#8217;s<\/span> assistance to <span class=\"xn-location\">Ecuador<\/span> in fighting the pandemic and wished the athletes of both countries success in the Games. <\/p>\n<p>Knowing that Alcivar was interested in traditional Chinese culture, Peng arranged a Peking Opera show and introduced the long history and artistic features of Peking Opera to her.
