{"id":8653,"date":"2022-04-25T17:19:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-25T17:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.prnasia.com\/story\/archive\/3735304_AE35304_0"},"modified":"2022-04-25T17:19:00","modified_gmt":"2022-04-25T17:19:00","slug":"cgtn-china-aims-for-world-class-universities-with-chinese-characteristics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/transmediavictoria.net.au\/?p=8653","title":{"rendered":"CGTN: China aims for world-class universities with Chinese characteristics"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en.prnasia.com\/prnasia.com-PC\/images\/logo-en-blue-in.png\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p><span class=\"xn-location\">BEIJING<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-chron\">April 26, 2022<\/span> \/PRNewswire\/ &#8212;&nbsp;China is eyeing to build world-class universities with Chinese characteristics.<\/p>\n<div class=\"PRN_ImbeddedAssetReference\" id=\"DivAssetPlaceHolder1\" align=\"center\" readability=\"7\">\n<p title=\"CGTN: China aims for world-class universities with Chinese characteristics\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bJGuiF1TPs0\" frameborder=\"0\">&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;nbsp;<\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>During Chinese President Xi Jinping&#8217;s visit to Renmin University of <span class=\"xn-location\">China<\/span> on Monday, he said <span class=\"xn-location\">China&#8217;s<\/span> universities should be deeply rooted in <span class=\"xn-location\">China<\/span> and avoid simply copying foreign standards and models.<\/p>\n<p>Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of <span class=\"xn-location\">China<\/span> (CPC) Central Committee, stressed following the Party&#8217;s leadership and passing down revolutionary traditions in running universities.<\/p>\n<p>His visit to the university in <span class=\"xn-location\">Beijing<\/span> came ahead of the country&#8217;s Youth Day, which falls on May 4.&nbsp;On behalf of the CPC Central Committee, Xi extended festive greetings to young people of all ethnic groups nationwide.<\/p>\n<p><b>Xi calls for more ideological-political courses for fostering students<\/b><b>&#8216;<\/b><b> morality <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Xi went to a smart classroom for ideological-political courses, where he sat with students, listening attentively and joining their discussions.<\/p>\n<p>Stressing that ideological-political classes should play their due role in fostering morality, Xi called for tailoring such education to the needs of young people at different developmental stages.<\/p>\n<p>Xi expressed hopes that all young people in the country can keep in mind the Party&#8217;s instructions, strive for national rejuvenation, and work hard for the best results possible.<\/p>\n<p>Xi also called for strengthening the building of the instructors.<\/p>\n<p><b>Xi tells college students to go all-out in life<\/b><\/p>\n<p>When talking to the students, he told them to go all-out in life and achieve &#8220;the best performance.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Xi compared life with running, saying he hopes the students can &#8220;run as hard as they can in the track of their youth&#8221; and to &#8220;live up to the expectations of their youth, the times and the people.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Renmin University of <span class=\"xn-location\">China<\/span> is among the top 10 universities in <span class=\"xn-location\">China<\/span>, according to the latest ranking by independent Chinese university service Cuaa.Net. Chinese Vice Premier <span class=\"xn-person\">Liu He<\/span> is among the university&#8217;s famous alumni.<\/p>\n<p>The history of Renmin University of <span class=\"xn-location\">China<\/span> can be traced to Shanbei Public School, founded in 1937.
